Scouting Reports for the 2022 Recruiting Class

This is a pivotal recruiting class for Coach Spiker and the Dragons, as the Cam Wynter / James Butler era has come to an end. With 7 open scholarships the coaching staff really had to do some roster building with a combination of freshmen and transfers.

The following are scouting reports for all 7 of the incoming scholarship players. This will be followed up with a companion podcast where we talk about the roster, how each of these players fits in with this years team and beyond.

The One With the CAA Championship

Nate, Dan and Eric talk about end of season awards and the tourney to be. Does it get better than a first round rivalry game with the conferences big dog on deck for round two?

The guys preview the entire bracket and pick a winner next - actually each guy picked a different winner.

They then pivot over to talk about the Drexel Women's Basketball team that clinched the regular season title on Thursday night and looks to complete an undefeated season on the road today. Undefeated in true road games but lost to teams at home? Yeah, that comes up as well.

One thing is for sure this weekend. It's a great day to be a Dragon!

An Interview with Robert Battle

Nate and Dan are joined by Bill Martin this week, and get a chance to speak with Drexel great Robert Battle. Robert takes us through the winding road that took him to Drexel, as well as highlights of his playing career under two different coaches in two different conferences.

The guys also spend some time speaking to Robert about the current years edition of the Dragons, and what Amari Williams' ceiling might be - and why. And everyone agrees with what the University of Delaware now knows - Keishana Washington is trouble if you're in an opposing jersey.

Thanks to Robert for joining the Pod, and we look forward to having him back again in the near future to fill us in about his pro career!

Eric Zillmer gets a shout out!
Dan riffs on the difference between IUC and JMU (hint, its money)

It's everything that you want to hear and so much more. Welcomeeeeeeee, to the big show!

Dragons Defeat Delaware and the CAA Horserace with Jerry Beach

Nate, Dan and Eric discuss the week that was for the Dragons, including a big road win for Coach Spiker's team and a historic streak snapped (maybe a good thing?) for the Drexel women. At the half hour mark Nate takes it off the court for his first rant of the year. Then, at @39:34 the gang is joined by Long Island based sportswriter and Hofstra alum, Jerry Beach, who talks Hofstra, Stony Brook and who he thinks the top dogs in the CAA are as the season hits the stretch run.
